NITV will begin producing its news and current affairs from the SBS studios this week, with plans on track for the launch of a new digital free-to-air Indigenous television channel in late 2012.
NITV has today co-located with SBS at its Artarmon headquarters, bringing Australia one step closer to having a free-to-air dedicated Indigenous channel that every household will be able to watch.

NITV to produce content from SBS
35 years ago, experimental radio stations 2EA and 3EA crackled to life in Sydney and Melbourne. Fast forward to 1980 and this fledgling radio service was broadcasting in 47 languages and about to be joined by its television counterpart Channel 0/28.
From these humble beginnings one of the world’s most distinctive and diverse broadcasters was created - SBS.
