If there's one thing we love the Song Contest for, it's those wild and crazy novelty songs that are unmistakably European.
Eurovision 2009: The Hague pops with Eurovision pre-show
Over the weekend the Netherlands hosted their own 'mini-EV' event to
mark the 50th year it has entered the world famous song contest.
Eurovision 2009: Australia hearts Eurovision
Australia may not be part of geographic Europe, but it has a long affection for the Eurovision Song Contest.
Over the years we've seen a number of Aussies competing, and even scoring a few wins.
Australian-born Irishman Johnny Logan is the most successful, having Eurovision wins no less than three times.
Eurovision 2009: Hello, Moscow calling
Olympiyski Indoor Arena (yes that's it's real name) will be the centre
of attention on May 16th Moscow time for the 54th Eurovision Song
Contest.
42 nations will compete in Europe's favourite song contest. An
extravaganza of song, pop and culture will explode. As Europe descends
on a city of 10 million, music unites a continent.
And in true Eurovision tradition, already there is controversy.
Get out the Cossack dancers, tune up the balalaika, grab a bottle of vodka and your Ushanka fur hat - we're heading to Russia!
