The 1996 Atlanta Olympics Award for 'starting with a nice party then utterly failing to live up to expectations' is just one of the many gongs handed out by the Broom Wagon.
December, let's face it, is a rubbish month for cycling. Short of the Tour of Rwanda and the play-at-home party game 'What award will Cadel win next?', there is so little going on that if you are reading this at all it is probably only because Australia's cricket chiefs have generously scheduled a stunningly pointless Test series.*
