Crays on the Barbie
Here’s an episode where we can really claim "We’ve been everywhere, man!" It's true – no stone was left unturned in our search for great Italian food in Australia. The fact that it took us to incredibly scenic locations was a bonus for us the film crew and for you the viewer.
The Bread is Alive
The bread’s alive and Daniel Chirico knows it! Watching his recipes go
from a dough into a living creation is fascinating to me. That’s why I
love bread. The yeasty smell in the early morning is mouth watering.
Have you been lucky enough to sample some of the fresh sweet tomato puree that many Italian families gather to make at the end of summer? I know I’m an incurable romantic when it comes to food but the home-made version tastes pure, sweet and full of sunshine and gives a special magic to everything you add it to.
Handmade Pasta
I’ve always enjoyed sardines, even as a small boy. My Father used to bring them home, lightly dust them in flour, pan fry them and drizzle with lemon. My friends used to turn their noses up at them but I loved their sweet bony flavour.
What a way to start!
