Stable inflation may abate rate rise
The odds on a Melbourne Cup Day interest rate rise have dramatically reduced on the back of the latest official inflation figures.
How will the merger hit rates?
The Singapore Exchange’s tilt for the ASX is generally good news for investors and our dollar, but the good news may end later this week with signs the RBA may in fact get the ammunition it needs to lift interest rates next week.

Melbourne Cup rate rise?
Bookies along with borrowers are likely to be the winners on Melbourne Cup Day, as the Reserve Bank unveils its decision on interest rates half an hour before Australia’s big race.
Currency traders will be keeping a very close eye on the Australian dollar tonight after it hit yet another record against the greenback earlier today.
