Google founders' wealth dwarfs newspapers

ValleyWag says the combined personal wealth of Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin is $32 billion - around $12 billion more than the estimated value of the entire U.S. newspaper industry.

Okay, I need to sit down now. That is a big number. But is it a question of Google's rise or the newspaper industry's fall. Newspapers (to mix metaphors) seem to be in freefall and imploding at the same time. Newspaper management seems dead keen to cut the production and reproduction of stories at an alarming rate. Which means even less reason to turn to them. Do you read newspapers the old fashioned way? Or does the newsprint on your fingers foul up your day? Do you read newspapers online? International? National? Local?
