Global coverage of the TdF Villiage???
Wouldn't it be great if Global Villiage was incorporated into the Tour de France coverage - and presented by Silvio every night from on site in that unique and unmistakable style of Global Villiage. Love you Silvio!

Podcasts/Vodcasts?
I would love to be able to download the show, is this possible or are there plans for this? Otherwise is there a DVD we can buy?

An excellent program
Global Village is the best program on TV. SBS management should put the Tour de France on at 3am where it belongs. As for the Test Highlights - they could be part of the news surely, as the real cricket telecast is on at a reasonable time surely. In short, please don't keep bumping Global Village off air. It is a very popular program and should be a fixture for SBS in the light of your multicultural mandate.

Côte d'Armor has never meant "Côte d'Amour", Silvio!!! Wednesday 29 July segment.
Your translator did not do a thorough job here, Silvio. "Armor" or "Arvor", means "Country of the Sea" in Celtic, that is, Brittany. "Armorique" was the Gaul name for the whole region of Brittany. Source: Petit Larousse. I am a NAATI-certified French <-> English Translator, on the French Consulate panel. That said, I really enjoy Global Village, and watch every single instalment... Good on ya, mate. Pierre Bigéni (my surname is Maltese, but born at Annaba, Algeria; St-Augustine's place.

There are many countries and new episodes coming up - stay tuned! Yes indeed I remember El Club Espanol, I used to live just around the corner in the CBD. Especially liked the Churros con Chocolate on Saturday nights! Another institution gone! RIP

Lynn, at the moment Global Village programs are NOT for sale. If they ever do become available I'll advise everyone via this blog before you hear about it elsewhere.

1/2 hour sourjourns
My friends would probably tell me to get a life, but as a I pass through a different French or Italian village or city for that wonderful 1/2 hour, (usually with a glass of wine, maybe with some cheese or olives or grilled liver.) we are in bliss. Bring on the repeats... Are there any other European destinations? Greece, Hungary? Silvio I was in Sydney last month and read about the sad end of the Spanish club. What a wonderfully atmospheric cavern that was in the 70s and 80s, till they let the light in. I'm pretty sure you were a regular there as well. Ahhh those coffees and liquors..... All the best and salute Dillon
