If all goes to plan and there are no unforeseen hiccups like, say, anyone involved asking for another postponement, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) will hear Alberto Contador's case from August 1. Hey, it's not as though there's any major event between now and then.
To your non-legal specialist (and Tour de France race director Christian Prudhomme) it's rather a long wait. Contador's sample which tested positive for clenbuterol was taken on the second rest day of last year's Tour. Obviously the wheels turn at this pace because true justice takes time, and not in the least because expensive law teams are involved and they get paid by the day.
Thankfully, while waiting for CAS, fans have been able to enjoy a special brand of street justice served out by the organisers of the Giro d'Italia.
After Contador took his sixth Grand Tour on Sunday – an Eddy Merckx-like achievement we might all be very excited about if not for the whole clenbuterol thing – organisers in Milan excelled themselves by playing the wrong Spanish anthem.
The current Spanish anthem is wordless. The one the Giro organisers played featured lyrics only sung during the time of Fascist dictator General Franco, who died in 1978.
"Raise your arms, sons of Spain, who will once again rise!" the loudspeakers blared, while Contador, to his credit, kept his face straight and his arms by his side.
Promisingly, it's not the first time the Spaniard has been subjected to this kind of thing.
After Contador won the 2009 Tour de France, the ASO – possibly anticipating a late charge up the Champs-Elysees by Jakob Fugslang or one of the Sorensens – played the Danish national anthem.
Here's Contador, again remaining superbly professional.
Whether the Spaniard will race this year's Tour de France appears in question, with good judges doubting Prudhomme will choose to invite him.
But if Contador does compete and wins in July, perhaps the ASO could raise the bar for justice-by-jukebox and dispense with the idea of anthems completely.
When Contador steps up on the podium they could simply throw a coin in the machine and play whatever novelty song the kids are into. Maybe this:
This week in Riccardo Ricco
Having recovered from the February hospital trip that may or may not have been the result of a botched blood transfusion, Riccardo Ricco was by all accounts poised to join the small Amore e Vita team.
Before signing for the Italian outfit, Ricco – who served a 20-month doping suspension after being kicked off the 2008 Tour de France – would have had to agree to certain conditions.
These included living in a villa owned by team owner Ivano Fanini in order to be available for drug testing at any time. Drugs or syringes were to be a no-no, and he would have to appoint a new coach and agent.
In order to demonstrate he had turned over a new, serious leaf, Ricco would also have had to remove his earrings, any other body piercings and the diamond he has had embedded in his tooth. (Curiously, a condition of the Broom Wagon's appointment by SBS was installing a full set of pimpin' grillz, which just goes to show that cycling and blogging about cycling are two very different things).
However, this week, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, Ricco signed for a completely different outfit which apparently requires none of these conditions – Croatian Pro-Continental team Meridiana-Kamen.
The Broom Wagon recommends that shocked readers print out a list of the Italian's recent rap sheet with which to fan themselves.

At the hospital in Bergamo the standard menù is about 1700 to 1900 kcal depending on the choices.
(Marco's followers say that seems like a heavy meal.)
I stick to the low end!
(How is the food?)
The food is not so bad. If interested I will post tomorrow's menu.

With the aid of only a 20m wooden ramp and inflatable stopping bag, BMX-riding New Zealander Jed Mildon performs the world's first triple backflip.
"All I wanted to do was pull really hard off that lip and land three flips," Milton said, moments after pulling really hard off the lip and landing three flips.

IOC are now compiling the evidence that Cycling should be excluded from 2016 Games ! Question is whether this will save the jobs of some of those on the IOC who were previously involved with running the UCI ? What was that nursery rime about "Georgie Porgie "? Lawyers are enjoying the delays that will continue to reoccur with the Pistolera case since ALL will want to see him try for the TRIPLE in the same year ! August is usually the month the french take their holidays so i feel sure that will become the excuse if "sickness " doesn't intervene . Regretably Cadel will have to work harder than ever to get anywhere near the podium . Lashing out at that spectator so many years ago must be keeping him awake at night ?

The only difference for this year's Tour is that we know the results of an anti-doping control will be decided after the race, as opposed to the usual situation where we all wait for the inevitable doping positive. Seriously, what is the big deal? Positive's happen virtually every month, the races go on, the teams continue, we all still watch and argue over semantics, we should be thankful our sport is not only a spectacle, but also a detective novel.

The delay doesn't help the sport or Contador and with the Armstrong case still hovering on the scene the whole sport is tainted. By the way what is so secret about Hincapie's evidence. Either he saw Armstrong doping or he didn't. Prety simple to me! Tell us that now or be dammed. Hincapie says he didn't talk to 60 minutes, so that is fib number 1 by them, what is fib 2? Just release Hincapie's evidence, "all over red rover" then.

What are they doing hoping by delaying it for so long that they hope everyone forgets that Contador tested positive for drugs. Anyone else would have had their case heard by now so what are they scared of the Spanish cycling union who seem to be corrupt anyway or is it that they might have rewrite last years TDF
