RICARDO'S BUSINESS> HP's TouchPad> Back from the dead, for now

Only days after it ended the manufacture of its tablet computer and dumping it at a loss-making US$99, HP is going ahead with one final production run of the unit.

It says it’s doing it to meet unmet demand, but it will only be available in the United States.

 

But given that it costs US$300 to make each unit, analysts are scratching their heads as to why it would want to make more of these units.

 

It’s another sign of the dominance, rival Apple has on the market.
