The Coalition has announced plans to honour former Prime Minister Gough Whitlam, who passed away today aged 98, by slowly and systematically destroying everything he worked for and believed in.

Plans to privatise Medicare, deregulate university fees and continue an atrocious record on indigenous land rights will all form part of the official tribute to the former Leader.

“It’s our hope that these measures will inspire young Australians to follow in former Prime Minister Whitlam’s footsteps and stop people like us from doing things like this,” said Prime Minister Abbott in a prepared statement.

“We’re just doing our bit to help them maintain the rage.”
