Debunking a stereotype

Today was what is described as the worst conditions possible. Still, it's better than a desk job!
A fourth Grand Tour

The ToC is currently an eight-day race, but there's no reason why it can't meet the criteria and expand to a three week event as is the requirement for a Grand Tour.
Comments (12)Making it to the start

Every year, without fail, the majority of teams, including some of the world's biggest teams are running at the last minute to have everything dialed in, the Amgen Tour of California is no different.
Comment (1)California dreaming
Tell āem theyāre dreaming! That was my first reaction when I caught wind of team Fly V Australiaās ambitious plan to gain entry to theAmgen Tour of California.

The ToC is set to grow to even greater levels in 2009 with the return of American cycling legend Lance Armstrong to racing and to the roads of California.
With the inclusion of Lance Armstrong, European riders will be out to make their presence felt on a race that has always been dominated by American riders and teams.
Traveling almost the entire length of California, the race will begin in the stateās capital, Sacramento, and finish in Escondido. Also for the first time, the riders will cross the Golden Gate Bridge.
Scheduled over nine consecutive days, the race will visit 16 host cities for official stage starts and finishes, with communities along the route getting the chance to see, firsthand, a lineup of some of the most elite, recognizable teams and athletes in the world.
