Phinney set for Denmark debut

Three professional teams announced the promotion of several talented young riders to their ranks as 'stagiaires' for the remainder of the 2010 season.
US cyclist Taylor Phinney will make his debut for the RadioShack team of Lance Armstrong at the Tour of Denmark from August 4-8, the team confirmed.
The 20-year-old Phinney, son of two former Olympic medallists Davis Phinney and Connie Carpenter, won the last two world pursuit titles on the track.
New Zealand's Jesse Sergent, 22, Phinney's rival in the pursuit final at the world track championships in Copenhagen last March, will also debut for the team in Denmark along with compatriot Clinton Avery.
Another young American, Cole House, will also step up to the pro ranks. House will spend the rest of the 2010 season as a stagiaire with the BMC Racing Team - with His first race expected to be the Tour de l'Ain in Aug.
"It's up to him (House) to seize the opportunity and show what they can do," said BMC Racing Team President Jim Ochowicz.
House won a stage of the recent International Cycling Classic and spent much of the spring racing with USA Cycling's Under 23 team. He is believed to be the first Native American professional cyclist.
The Cervelo TestTeam also announced the addition of two young international riders to their roster for the rest of the season.
Swede Alexander Wetterhall and Daniel Teklehaymanot from Eritrea will join Cervélo as stagiaires.
Wetterhall, 24, started his career as a mountain biker before moving to road cycling in 2008. He will join the team for the Post Tour of Denmark in August.
He took two stage victories at the 2009 Tour of Eritrea and later finished 6th overall in the Tour de l'Avenir.
