New South Welshmen Scott Law and Alex Carver were victorious in the two Elgas Tour of the Murray River stages on Tuesday.

Virgin Blue RBS Morgans rider Law sprinted to victory in stage five, beating home New Zealander Rico Rogers, Swan Hill Rural City Council, and Victorian Nicholas Walker, Jayco/VIS, in the 39 kilometre Lake Boga criterium.

Earlier in the day, Carver got the better of Cameron Peterson, Virgin Blue RBS Morgans, and Tasmanian Thomas Robinson, Genesys Wealth Advisors, to claim the glory in stage four - a 45 kilometre criterium in Swan Hill.

Young New Zealander James Williamson managed to retain the overall race lead, but is now just eight seconds ahead of Joel Pearson, Genesys Wealth Advisers, and a further six ahead of Gordon McCauley, Hyster - Total Rush.

“I’m stoked to be still in front because it was a really hard day,” Williamson said. “The opposition threw everything at our team but we finished up at the end of the day with four category jerseys – a real triumph.
