Australia’s world four cross champions Jared Graves and Caroline Buchanan will attempt to retain their respective rainbow jerseys at the 2010 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships in Canada this week.

Australia's 32-strong team will join more than 800 athletes from more than 50 countries in Mont-Sainte-Anne, Quebec, for the 31 August to 5 September event.

Toowoomba's Graves, 27, won his second World Cup series title in the United States on the weekend and is in ominous form.

Buchanan had a shocking time of it at last month's BMX world championships and will be eager to redeem herself.

After a hugely successful 2009 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships in Canberra, in which Australia won two gold, a silver and two bronze medals, the team will be hopeful of exceeding that result.

Dual world downhill champion Samuel Hill (2006 and 2007) and will 17-year-old downhill young gun Troy Brosnan wil be among a strong 10-man Aussie contingent in that event while  Australian cross country champion Rowena Fry and national series victor Lachlan Norris will lead Australia’s cross country charge.
