Honda Dream Team rider Melissa Hoskins and Thomas Palmer of Drapac were fourth round winners of the NSW International Grand Prix Series.

The Honda Dream Team continued its domination of the women's events at the NSW International GP Series, after Melissa Hoskins crossed the line first in the Coogee round.

Hoskins said she was comfortable on the surface and very happy with the team winning four from four races.

“We’ve got four from four now, I don’t think you could ask for a better result. Today we tried something different, it wasn’t as much of a sprint finish. I made a move, got the break and came off with good legs,” she said.

Liz Georgouras (Virgin Blue) claimed second in today’s race and Trudy Van Der Satraaten (Bicisport) took third.

Team captsain, Rochelle Gilmore said she was proud of the team effort which resulted in Hoskins’ win.

“Mel and the team put in a fantastic effort. We have the strength to change our plan from day to day. Everybody expected us to race for me for a sprint today, and that’s why we manage to do so well now, because every member of the team is capable of winning.”

After the fourth round of the Honda Insight Women’s International GP Series, Peta Mullens (Honda) leads with 27 points, followed by Rochelle Gilmore (Honda) on 24 points and Emily Collins (Cyclesport) on 22 points.

The men's race was an eventful affair with Darapac rider Thomas Palmer coming back into form following a race two crash, taking the win in a sprint.

Palmer won race one of the five race series, defeated Bernard Sulzberger of Fly V Australia and U23 World Champion Michael Matthews (AIS) in a straight up but uphill finish.

"I just had to back myself a little bit today," said Palmer. "I go off a bit scott free today, but these courses suit me perfectly."

The trio were part of a surviving group which had been whittled down following a series of crashes.

Among the casualities were Sulzbergers brother Wesley (Francaise des Jeux) and Graeme Brown (Rabobank), but both riders picked themselves up to continue to the end.

A commissaires decision contributed to the attrition following a midrace crash involving Brown, with several riders removed from the course - among them Garmin-Transitions rider Cameron Meyer.

The series concludes in Cronulla at 12 noon on Sunday, televised live on the Nine Network from 12pm.
