German UCI Continental Team Stölting has announced the signing of Australian Luke Roberts for the 2013 season, confirming his departure from Saxo-Tinkoff.

Roberts will join former Milram team-mate Bjorn Schroder at Stölting, and will be counted on for his experience in what is a relatively young squad. The Australian said he was excited to be joining the team in a statement on the Stolting website.

"There are a lot of really quality young riders in this team, and I can't wait to get back on to the bike next season and help them develop."

Roberts best results of 2012 came at Three Days of West Flanders, where he was seventh overall, and the Rund um den Kurpark where he finished fifth. He was a loyal worker for Saxo-Tinkoff at the Giro d'Italia.

His move marks an end to his six seasons in the WorldTour, having ridden with Team CSC (2005-2007), Milram (2010) and Saxo Bank (2011-2012) previously.
