Brown wins Vuelta a Murcia opener

Australian Graeme Brown of Rabobank, has won the first stage of the Vuelta a Murcia.
Australian Graeme Brown of Rabobank, has won the first stage of the Vuelta a Murcia, and now holds the race leaders jersey.
Theday was marked by strong winds and an escape by Murcia José Pedro Vera,of COPE-Contentpolis, José Antonio Lopez Gil, Andalucia-Cajasur andMarcos Garcia Fernandez of Xacobeo Galicia.
But it all came together after Brown's Rabobank team pulled back the break and set the sprinter on a dash to the finish.
In the finale, Brown outsprinted New Zealander Greg Henderson of Team Columbia, and Spaniard Rubén Pérez, of teamEuskaltel.
The race continues with the second stage travelling 175,1 km from Las Torres de Cotillas - Caravaca
Stage 1 and general classification: 192,3 km, San Pedro del Pinatar - Lorca Miércoles.
