In Madagascar, twins are often separated, abandoned, and left to die.
This
week on Dateline, Mark Davis investigates the bizarre tribal belief
that twins are responsible for floods, poor crops, and poverty.
"Twins are evil... Twins are misfortune... Twins mean for them very bad things," explains the local mayor.
But Mark discovers a town orphanage that is challenging this old tradition.
