This week Ginny Stein travels to Las Vegas, where locals have been furious at President Barack Obama after he suggested that trips to the Gambler's paradise were a corporate extravagance.
Residents took it personally. And Obama's remarks seemed to have an immediate impact on the local economy. Conferences were cancelled and hotel bookings plummeted. Occupancy rates dropped to unheard of levels. The industry went into shock.
Ginny meets the President of the Caeser's Palace Hotel & Casino, Gary Selesner, who describes the adverse impact of Obama's words. "The fourth quarter was a shock. It felt like we were a racecar that was going downhill at a hundred miles an hour, so it was quite, quite frightening," he says.
