The constant threat of capture, arrest and torture are just some of the hazards of working as an undercover journalist in Burma.
Aaron Lewis speaks with a reporter, code name 'Joshua', working for the Democratic Voice of Burma (DVB). The brave video-journalists of the DVB are the only media in Burma that has so far managed to evade the savage crackdown on that country’s free press.
The DVB were declared public enemy number by Burma’s security forces as they covered the 2007 protests of Burma's Buddhist monks, capturing and releasing to the world video of monks being beaten up and shot at by government forces.
Support for the Burmese video journalists has grown with the release of 'Burma VJ', a documentary compiling their work. 'Joshua' now finds himself in the spotlight as he attempts to rally support in the international community for Burma's democracy movement.
Unfortunately copyright on the footage from 'Burma VJ' prevents us from being able to upload the story here.
