Italy's Aftershock

In April, Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi announced a sudden change of venue for next week's G8 Summit. Instead of the purpose-built luxury waterfront resort, world leaders will be staying in the barracks of Italy's Financial Police in the middle of an earthquake zone.

The austere location is near the town of L'Aquila, which just 3 months ago was the epicentre of the deadliest quake to hit Italy in almost 30 years.

This week Amos Roberts travels to Italy's Abruzzo region in the lead up to the G8 Summit, and finds that earthquake victims are still suffering. There are many still living in tents, authorities won't commit to restoring the area's priceless cultural heritage, and people are angry.

Is the government doing enough to help?
