Since the United States government bailed out banks to the tune of $700 billion last year, America has seen a backlash against the bonus-loving, risk-taking bankers and corporate executives that nearly led the country to economic ruin.
But the backlash was largely ignored on Wall Street itself, until Ken Feinberg was brought in by the US Government.
He has the task of working out how much these high-flyers actually deserve to be paid, especially now they’re answerable to the American taxpayer.
George Negus interviews Ken Feinberg, who has been described as the most hated man on Wall Street, and asks if he has a ‘mission impossible’ to rein in corporate greed and what hope there is of averting another financial crisis.
Watch the interview, as shown on Dateline.
