Beekeeping is taking off in the United States, in the unlikely setting of congested New York, after the lifting of a decade-long ban.
It’s helping to tackle the collapse of bee colonies across the country in recent years, which has affected honey production and the pollination of plants crucial to food supplies.
Now restaurants, schools and householders across the city are snapping up the chance to have their own hives.
