Bullfighting has long been a male-dominated sport, but a group of women in Portugal are fighting against the tradition.
Video journalist David O’Shea meets the country’s first female ‘forcados’ group, doing battle not only with the animals, but with male prejudice, too.
He finds little support for them from men in the bullfighting world, and condemnation from animal rights groups protesting outside Lisbon’s main bullring.
So what’s driving this controversial new interest in female bullfighting?
