Only the idolatry is different!

I'm from Mexico City and it pains me to see my countrymen in such a dire need for help. Desperate people will seek that which will bring relief and you can count on others to take advantage of it. This scene is no different than any playing out in the bible belt or heartland of america. Same con job, different idol. The notion that christianity, judeism, islam... are the true faith is as ridiculous as santa muerte. Religion is the instrument of control that enables the few to control the rest.

Same old rubbish

This cult is no more or less remarkable than any other cult, be it christianity, islam, judaism. Christians believe in the Angel of Death, Catholics worship anyone they please. The fact that these people are outcasts shines the light on the usual church grab for control and power that we have been fighting for 2000 years.

Unbelivable

I deeply sympathise with those members who are brain washed by the leading members of the cult. After watching the documentation on Dateline is was evident to learn that this is all a big money spin by the family leading the cult. I really do feel sorry for all those vulnerable kids that are forced to believe in a lie. God wishes to help us. Yes we are weak, it may be urged. This is true, but then God offers us abundant graces to strengthen our weakness, gives us light to see the gravity of our faults and the necessary force to conquer temptation. We as a Christian know the battle between evil spirits and the spirit of God we are in the middle. I feel sorry for those people because they are not considered Mexican citizen by the gobernment and they are rejected by the Catholic church. In many jails and people coming from jail has been tougth about God, Christ, the Holy Spirit and the Word of God an his power and love and many have been safe. There is HOPE for them,even when the devil is performing miracles for them to keep them captives

Interesting revelation

It was pretty amusing to see how humans build a belief system to suit their lifestyles and emotional needs. To each his own I guess. I say, as long as a belief doesn't harm someone else, let people worship whoever they want.
