Anti Semetic

Annie , why do you blame the Israelis when the Palestianians are at fault - george you are also very biased in your views - always attacking the israelis.

Hypocrite

Annie Lennox is indeed a very talented musician, but she is a total hypocrite. She may quite possibly be an overt antisemite, but I tend to believe she is just ignorant of the history of Israel and may have some deep seated church taught fear of Jews. She made a very vocal appeal against Israel for their Gaza operation to stop Israeli citizens from being constantly bombarded by missiles. But where is her voice on Sri Lanka, suicide bombers in Israel killing jewish children?

Response to Annie Lennox

Annie, You are always a breath of fresh air with your honest opinions about the reality of unneccessary tragedy in this world. I too feel devestated about the innocent children recently murdered in Gaza and anywhere else for that matter. A friend told me of a camp for children in Corrymeeler, Ireland which brough children from different backgrounds together to realize their similarities. It made me happy that there is some hope for the dissipation of hatred in the future as a result....

Damn! She should've really slapped him!

I've seen a lot of George's work over the years & respect that he's revealed a lot of significant facts for us to ponder on. And as he says in the extras, Annie is an important person to interview. But what a waste. I'm thankful she got some moments to say what she felt was important but he just didn't prepare enough (he even admits this). At one point Annie took control & went over a previous point to give a sense of context about her involvement in promoting human rights. She deserved better.

Annie Lennox interview

I thought this was a very interesting interview, provocative and to the truth on her other interests aprat from music. she touches on activism, parenting and her concern for the political world interesting well. I hope she keeps up her activism with some good results but we must remember popstars are not the only ones with the answers. Very insightrful and good typical george Negus interfview with good straight to the point questions.
