Why Us?
Good story Dateline. But why are gangs so prevalent in societies like Australia and Canada? Vancouver has just been voted the most liveable city in the world with Melbourne in 3rd place. People have been talking on here about personal freedoms that come with belonging to a gang but I can think of nothing worse than having to dress the same, following club rules and hanging out in groups. I could understand if we were talking about places with oppressive regimes or where life is very tough.

Jeremy Graham Leyland your a tuff man!
I don't base my comments on the media in fact i do not believe anything i read or see in the media! My comments are based on first hand knowledge from having dealt with these pieces of ___ for the last 15 years and seen the damage that they have done to innocent people and families through extortions, rapes, assaults and murders. I don't identify myself as i value my families security! For your info i am also a biker not a bikie! What really suprised me is that an 81 member could read & write!

Bikies not Bikers
Jeremy. They call bikers bikies down under. Kinda like how they call a cigarette a fag in the UK. Don't even try to play the drama queen bs saga of being the victim. Hells Angels are bullies that sell drugs and profit from prostitution. They own brothels in Amsterdam and Nevada. Then there's the Otis Garret case in San Francisco. Selling crack and shooting reporters in the back has absolutely nothing to do with being a biker and living the dream. You sir are no biker. You are a bikie.

Evil Individuals
My heart goes out to the families who have lost their precious loved ones who were unfortunate to cross paths with these evil people. Those people where just that, evil individuals taking up space on this planet. While I personally believe that people who join gangs are lacking something in their lives or do so out of fear of standing alone, I don't think that an organised gang itself is to blame for the problem. Some people are just born bad and will eventually fulfill that evil potential.

Can't stand bikies? Get a life and some guts!
So, 'Can't stand bikies' and author of 'enough is enough', I am a "biker"- not a "bikie". I am originally from the UK. You complain about an 81 member not identifying him or her-self, but you don't identify yourself. Can't you see how incongruous your comment is? Someone from 81 is highly unlikely to identify themselves, given that they may, for no legitimate reason, be suspected of something, for no better reason than they have had the guts to post something on the Dateline site? This is unlike people like you who appear to believe everything they hear in the media, but ensure they remain anonymous for no other reason than being gutless.

Aftermath
Seems to be that history shows us that whenever a major Organised Crime group is brought down it leaves a vacumn in which a more violent and anti social group moves into.Resources should be focusing on removing the "Big Money" out of the Drug equation ,then maybe it wont be worth fighting and killing over.Until you stop the demand you wont stop the supply no matter how many people you lock away.

Enough is Enough!
What a suprise, an 81 member posting a comment disagreeing. If you had any guts you would identify yourself by name and not use 81 member! The biggest problem that exists is the lack of public knowledge on bikie gangs. People want to remain ignorant of the problems that exist in the community that are caused by these guys. They want to identify themselves as outlaws and act as outlaws but as soon as they are outlawed they run off crying to the supreme court they aren't outlaws!!!
