Stop clandestine entry

Entering into a country should be carried out legally. This report shows the stress countries like Italy are faced with with Australia on the same path. Anyone who enters a country as an illegal has done so in a clandestine manner. Undeserving of my respect nor consideration to be awarded the protection as an asylum seeker. Deporting these individuals who risk their lives and their loved ones need to be deported in a humane manner.

Italy needs our support

Please Italy needs our support to defend its border. The deportation of individuals who have forced their way in to Lampedusa need to be deported.

Civil War will come to europe if they don't stop mass-immigration as the natives will preceive a threat.

I fear Europe will be lost in 50 years. It's political structure and media is extremist leftist communist. Europe in last 50 years has allowed it's self be dominated by communist influenced groups who wish to destroy the old order of Europe. Majority of in people are considered extreme left. The only way Europe can be saved is if mass's vote nationalist parties who wish to close the floods gates, and say no to globalization.

What's with these comments?

It was with growing apprehension that I read these comments. They seem be either bemoaning media that seeks to position the viewer or casting broad sweeping generalisations on the african immigrants, or proclaiming the glory of Italian culture. However, I am yet to see real analysis that is more than mere emotive retaliations. Further, the number of readers who support such emotive and poorly analysed comments make me wonder what sort of audience Dateline attracts.

Italy - amazing what fear does, why not turn on the MAFIA

Italy has never really been a unified country! but suddenly they are?BAH Each region is different and they view each other differently -Southern Italians who came to the North of Italian for employment were also "evil" or do they forget this? Lega Nord wants Italy to finish at Rome. Recall historically ARABS were also present for many years in the South of Italy. Why take your fear and aggression out on a desperate, vulnerable set of poor people? Why not HUNT THE MAFIA? that'll help your economy

Italy - amazing what fear does, why not turn on the MAFIA

Italy has never really been a unified country - each region is different and regard themselves as different! Italy has a long history including ARAB presence in the South of ITALY. It also has a history of Italians immigrating in large numbers overseas and people forget how they were perceived when they arrived - they were not welcome! Why blame vulnerable, poor and desperate people? why not hunt out the Italian MAFIA instead and really make a difference to the Italian Economy?!?!

Im Italian, my father is Italian , my grandfather was Italian, also his parents, and the parents of his parents. We have the most beautiful country of the world,we have culture,we have food,we have art and we have a way of life, but, we are not reach anymore like during the 60s and even if we would, we couldn't welcome to the entire Africa or Albania. Now we are tired, because the 70% of the prisons are full by people from abroad and we are tired of them.We want Italy free but i know is too late

Biased reporting

This episode was very biased. I know the presenter and show is left-wing but this does not give it the excuse to not present the facts and real problems of ILLEGAL-immigrants ruining my country. Go to Italy for yourself and see the tourist places that are overun by illegals annoying and hounding tourists with illegal merchandise. The amount of crime, trouble, and illegal problems that these people have/are bringing to italy is wromg. Why is it called racism if we choose not to have illegals?
