Hi I am currently writing a university essay, and would like to cite 'Diamonds are Forever'. However, in order to reference it, I need some information that I cannot find on the website. Is it possible to find out: 'publisher/ distributer' 'place of recording' & 'date of recording' (if applicable) Thank you. Kind regards Jennifer Buss

Lets not be so stereotyped
It amazes me that people only take joy in when the reports from africa are negative. Such a true reflection of how Botswana has invested and moved up the ranks. As a national i am so proud. We are not saying we have fixed all our problems, but its high time we take pride in our achievements. there hasnt been massive killings of bushmen in Botswana unlike in other "countries" where people have enriched themselves by killing and taking land from indegenious folks. Well done dateline!

DIAMONDS FOR AFRICA
The last time I was in Botswana was in 1986 and that country was in a drought. May be it is the only country in Africa that did not embrace COMMUNISIM!! after they gain independence from Britain. They certainly don't like the Black Zimbabweans coming into their territory!!

missing the point of the bushmen
It is all very nice talking about a feel good story but the pint being missed is that the bushmen have had the land that was allotted to them for hunting in the past has been taken away from them and given as concessions to BHP and De Beers for diamond exploration. This has been done against their will and told that is for their 'benefit'. It has all the hallmarks of corporate and economic development overriding the will of indigenous people. Economic development at the expense of tribal group

how dissapointing
Glad to hear of the developments brought by mining in Botswana. I'm however dissapointed by the comments made by the lady in pink. Its diamonds belonging to Batswana that helped de beers not the other way round. Its about time Africans claims what's rightfully theirs from companies like de beers known for vicious human rights violations throughout Africa and not be apologetic about it. its because of peolpe like her that Africa break free from appearing to be at the mercy of the west.
