Our so-called generous refugee program is a hoax. We import 6,000 migrants on a vaguely humanitarian program that has nothing at all to do with the refugee convention refugees. 1185 of the 4 million Afghans, 2200 of the 5 million Iraqis, 2900 of the 3.65 million Burmese refugees. What a pathetic country. We protect less than 0.1% of the world's refugees and we waste nearly $500 million per year to do it while people die of starvation.

RUD GOVERNMENT WAS SLEEPING WHEN THINGS WERE HAPPENING...

The Tamils suffered immensely at the hands of the Sinhala Regime in Sri-Lanka. On those Last two days of the conflict alone there were more than 70,000 innocent Tamils massacred by the Sinhala Army by using heavy weapons most of them were banned weapons. The Tamil community in Sydney had a continues mass protest against the killing and requesting the Australian Government along with other International community to interfere in stopping the mass killing. There was a three day vigilant in front of the Prime Minister's residence, where Mr. Rudd reputedly refused to come out and meet with the vigilantes. Had the Rudd government and the International Community involved them self in preventing these mass killing, today there wouldn't be a mass outpour of refugees fleeing this war zone. You are too late Mr. Rudd. At least now, try to fulfil our moral obligations. The opposition has well trying to make advantage by focusing this International problem as a domestic problem. Grow-up you politicians.

This interview could have been better

Yes it was a pity George Negus cut across that poor professor all the time. She looked like she had interesting things to say, and did actually when she was allowed to develop her points properly. Some of the interview unfortunately reminded me of Fox news really.

Your grubby efforts, however, are in vain. Tamils know that that the Vani Holocaust was modelled on the Gaza Holocaust, and that Israeli arms and advice were integral to the crushing of their independence movement. They therefore wish the Goldstone report every success.

Where is the UNHCR and Goldstone on Sri Lanka???
