A flawless plan I must admit. Offering the marines a slice of home, an ingenious concept. But what's really happening here is the influx of money (received by the marines for being over in Afghanistan) which is stagnant now has a pathway back home. It's way to circulate money back to America. Cashed up marines buying American goods, all to keep the wheel turning. Please..... anyone with half a brain can see what's going on.

All seemed rather surreal to me. Big Macs @ Bagram? In some respects it makes sense to allow the troops some 'home comforts' even if MacDonald$ can't be classed as anything but crap. But in other way typifies what's wrong with any occupying country. So much for those foreign opportunists seeing a quick buck in war torn places. Do they know they're contributing to the abhorrent situation outside the US base? Why shut these businesses down, they should be handed to Afghans as part of the cause of giving these people some hope of self determination. As for the jewellery shop owned by the ruthless crooks in Karzai's govt., the millions in profits from that won't go to the welfare of the Afghan people. The wrong people are dying in Afghanistan.
