What an amazing woman!

What can be done to help? I thought 'gulabi' meant 'rose'? Nonetheless,is there a link available to assist?

Need ur help to reach Sampat

Great going! heartening story...pls help me reach her. Just today a young teenage girl was stripped naked and beaten up in full public view by a boy---her crime? she spurned his advances. No one came to her rescue, though this happened on college campus in Lucknow. I'm still trying to get more information. Crimes against women continue to increase with honour killings as well. Need more people in India to know of her,wud truly appreciate a lead from you.My id- batull.socialsolutions@gmail.com

How Can We Help Sampat Pal?

Does anyone at Dateline have any information how we can help this brave woman? Please let me know asap as I would like to help her in any way I can. First I'll start by writing to the Indian PM and also ask him how the caste system can be done away with once and for all. Surely the more people who write, the better. Dateline please let us know so we can help her.

Re: No better than the perpetrators...Interesting 8/3/10

Quote: - "I don't condone this women's actions of threating violence, it makes her no better than the corruption she is supposed to stamp out". - It helps to give a conscience buried under centuries of medieval practices a shake up with a taste of its owner's medicine so it is brought to bear what suffering is inflicted on others. It is clear to see that Sampat Pal uses a thin stick, not a knife or gun and is too much of a compassionate person to inflict any harm other than shattering ignorance.

Oppression of the masses

I do not see Sampat Pal as a person who is condoning violence, rather I see her vision as one of self-defence, against corrupt, power hungry, greedy 'leaders', who lie to and cheat the masses from what is rightfully theirs... Doesn't that sound familiar to the taxpayers in the west? Perhaps other women can take a lesson from Ms Pal on this International Womens Day... By the way, for the first time in Australia, more women are employed in paid work than men... So... Show us the money!!!
