my opinion about Prof. R. Dawkins claims.

I think Prof. R. Dawkins is absolutely correct in saying that there is no such thing as god because that premise is merely based on a belief and not at all backed up with evidence unlike science. In layman's terms, Science is everything! and there is no such thing as God, its only a belief!

Education and the Out campaign

Nice interview with Prof Dawkins. So many topics to cover. A couple more that Richard Dawkins applies a lot of energy to are education and the Out campaign. In education there is the need to ensure all children understand the scientific method and the truth of evolution. The Out campaign is aimed at encouraging more and more people to realise and be open about their atheism. Some would say Dawkins is a militant atheist. Perhaps he is. In many cases it's necessary given the opposing powers.

no God...?

Tolerance , respect , helping those less fortunate than ourselves...all this is part of the bible which , apparently , is full of superstition and ignorance. There is a passage in the bible which states that pure and undefiled religion is to help others less fortunate than yourself , and to keep yourself from being selfish , what on earth is so harmful about that? Just because we don`t understand something doesn`t mean it`s superstitious and meaningless-it simply means we don`t understand!

It is laughable that believers of any religion see it as their job to 'protect' god from the likes of Richard Dawkins who is not advocating any form of aggression at all. Surely god can look after itself?? If biggotted religious adherents allowed free speech without being offended by non-belief in a god there would be no debate involved at all....people would be free to choose their points of view and Dawkins would be much more gentle in putting forward his point of view.

Thankyou for your efforts in search of scientific truth

Thankyou for your efforts in search of scientific truth which one day may prove to debunk religious beliefs. Perhaps our inteligence will continue to evolve to a better understanding of "who and why" we really are or if indeed it really matters at all. WE MUST STRIVE TO EDUCATE OUR CHILDREN TOWARDS FREE THINKING AND REASONING. It's a nobel goal in the face of such world wide ignorance and indoctrinated brainwashing and however hard, EDUCATION is the key to freedom, peace, love and understanding

Too True

At last! Someone with intellectual clout who can ellequantly articulate (to quote John Cleese) "the bleeding obvious"!!!!! As a layman, although travelled and well read, it seems so 100% crystal clear that the religions of today (excluding, perhaps Buhdism) are ridiculous ancient dogma. It wouldn't be so bad but for the influence this total nonsence weilds!!! Can you honestly tell me that one can listen to such doctrine with a pragmatic non indoctrinated ear and not laugh at its nonsense??

Spelling Error

The two words dominating the English language 'God and Devil' stem from the misinterpretation of 'Good and Evil'. The first is the hypothetical, the latter the reality. Once we sort out that the first can't be reached but the latter can be edited down to the first word only, we're halfway to where we're supposed to be. Changing the world's dictionaries takes time, but changing your own can be done instantly.
