Still not there yet
I am amazed how intelligently she courted all those extremely difficult questions presented to Fatima in this program. For most part of all she said, I totally agree. I never knew of her before but she has grown up even more mature than Benazir, as I can dare say. However, she has not come out of her personal resentment that Bhutto family kept alive against the late President Zia. I just hope that she sheds such prejudices and work sincerely towards achieving whatever she has set her sights on.

'6 disagree'
"Wow - Bloody refreshing! pray for her" How can 6 idiots disagree with that, must have eaten to much macca's or are taliban supporters, I guess given the history theres not much difference. What an amazing woman. George will go a long time now without such quality, but good job to get her. Keep it up please.

Refreshing
i'm pleased to read the public responses to this interview in this forum. People are awake. George's response at the end of the interview only revealed his bias towards US foreign policy. I think he was threatened by Fatima's forthright articulate beauty. He had to discredit her at the end of the interview in an attempt to hide the truth she revealed. it only back-fired.

Well done Fatima
What a wonderful young lady, so well spoken, courageous, erudite and polite. She is what this world needs, telling the truth about US back door involvement in many countries around the world, about which the mainstream media will not report. Initially it sounded like George's "lacks little by way of seriousness" quote was dismissive and perhaps patronizing, but thank you Harvie for tracking down the actual quote, which could mean George was begrudgingly extending a compliment to Fatima.

Incredible Pakistan
George-Having interviewed almost every body who matters in Pakistan, you must now have incredible insight into what makes Pakistan what it is today. How ever there is a void in your work on that 'incredible' country called Pakistan, in that you have not probed into the causes of is plight. Ever since it was created by the most Western minded Muslim person Mohammad Ali Jinnah; the multitude of causes that confronted the country, need to be addressed for the world to fully realize its difficulties. The two worst of the problems have been and still are the issue of Kashmir and their follow on effect on India- Pakistan relationship under the role played by the ex-Colonial Master Britain coupled with the part played by the West; and the self centered 'incredibly' corrupt leadership supported by them. Also George, how many of your viewers know of the millions of refuges in the country from various parts of the world including even Bosnia etc, compared to the 'boat people' issue in Australia? I hope George; you are not being too 'politically correct' in your journalistic analyses of the country's problems. There is no reason for you to hold back now since Fatima Bhutto has given you the lead. You will do the poor people of Pakistan a favour.

India
Ever wondered that India is surrounded by unstable, dictatorial and/or failed States like Pakistan, Nepal, Burma, Bangladesh and worst of all CHINA!, and is yet not only a stable secular democracy whose President is a women, Prime Minister a Sikh and leader of the governing party a Catholic though the majority Hindus. It not only gave shelter to Dalai Lama (whom many western leaders refuse to meet), but is defending Bhutan against Chinese invasion like that of Tibet. How about a story on Bhuta

Pakistan's Royals, the Maharadja dynasty Bhutto
The intervew with Fatima Bhutto omitted that her grandfather had been a maharadja and designated Benazir to be his successor. The devotion of the Pakistanis to the Bhuttos need to be seen in the context that Pakistan is a republic on paper but in practice it is a monarchy. Benazir's mother was a Kurdish Princess and one of Benazir's brothers (maybe Fatima's late father?) married an Afghan Princess. The Bhuttos rule via a polical party to appear legit.

"...., but Ms Bhutto lacks little by way of seriousness."
"...., but Ms Bhutto lacks little by way of seriousness." The implication is she is very serious or too serious. Apart from the fact it is "personal" & and in the circumstances "offensive" it seems to me dismissive. Also possibly a desperate last attempt to discredit her views. Jornos (or their bosses) get the last word but it doesn't necessarily carry any weight at all .
