Electric dreams or Political dreams
Well, yes, electric dreams do have a political component. After all, reducing dependence on oil is favorable to a country that is an oil importer like Israel; and charging batteries with wind generated electricity when most persons are fast asleep will certainly support some political party's position in Denmark. I have been following Shai Agassi and Better Place for many years and have been struck with his ability to both anticipate his critics and respond to them with feasible solutions.

Electric cars
I have been keeping a very keen interest on this development of elecric cars, and I also strongly beleive that we need a revolution in the automobile market. I have been listening to Sah Agassi right from the begining and I started to beleive in myself that electric cars can be a reality. I being a small person with this idea in my mind was not able to potray to the people who can make the difference. Please include me in your chat list. I would like to share my ideas too.

accelerate natural history of change
I had the privilege of using a Macintosh computer when only 1000 were distributed into the medical field for new students. Now with the iPad and iPhone as a global phenomena, I can only say, I was surprised how long that took ( compared to the windows alternatives). I would hope Australia can see the opportunity to radically accelerate global change, boosting Better Place ( they got their capital from HSBC) to the next level. As global citizens now, this reality is phenomenal. Leaders-respond.

I have driven this car
Let me make an allusion. The standar E bike sports a 250 watt motor. it propels me, a 125 kg man, briefacse, bike-battery, fairly briskly at 25Km hr. (See Clean republic e-bike). that's 8 KW for 2 tons. So how brisk is a car with 5 occupants weighing two tons, applying 80 KW to start it off from the traffic light? Let me tell you, its brisk. I have signed the dotted line. So should anyone who wants an excellent ride. As for the coal question its bosh, I can explain, in good English

A partial "solution"
Always good to see positive news stories on environmental issues. However the batteries for electric cars pose their own problems as they are often highly toxic and difficult to dispose of safely. A much better alternative is investment in public transport which can move more people, more efficiently. Of course this requires work also given that most of our electricity comes from fossil fuels. A price on carbon and better public transport, running off clean energy should be our goal.
