the poor claiming intellectual equality
A students says: 'Our communities - being in such an unsafe environment, and being able to cope with that, and being able to penetrate through that, and to finish things [art projects] we started. Don't let the circumstances in our lives stop us.' Bradford's project shows the importance of students in 'low SES school communities' to escape from their intellectually marginalised status by proving that they belong to, and can engage spaces of higher-order intellectual practices (artistic here).

I resonate
Mark Bradford's work that was shown on sbs was most interesting for me as I have been working some similar themes and trying to get a series of pieces together. I am encouraged by his work and hope to maybe contact him and discuss common themes. Thanks for the viewing of this. i will watch Dateline again
