Afghan civilians are safer in Afghanistan than American civilians are in the USA.

The UNAMA said that 1,319 civilians died as a result of the war from January 1 to June 30, up 23% from the same period in 2012. If Afghanistan's population is taken to be 30million that works out to 8.79 deaths per 100,000 people per annum, mostly from bombs and crossfire. www.aljazeera.com/news/asia/2013/07/201373185853938732.html Compare that with 11 deaths by motor vehicle and 4.7 gun deaths by homicide per 100,000 people per annum in the USA. www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-12-19/

We still hate the "Other"

Everyone speaks of Islam being totalitarian. The truth is that US globalism is the most totalitarian ideology to have ever existed. Think about it, if it was not true, why else do you think we would all be wearing jeans and drinking Coca-cola. The real threat is the US and the pirates who have hijacked that country. 9-11 is a hoax. Middle Eastern peoples don't trust their respective governments; while Westerners swallow all the rhetoric thrown to them by their respective governments.

A more general picture

Apparently, refugees are coming because Turkish state, in its incarnation as Turkish mafia, transports people to the borders, so to create problems to Greece. Instead of an order to leave in 30 days, Greece should have returned them back to Turkey, but Turkey plays fool. P.S. The trench along the Greek-Turkish border is not intended to stop the refugees. It is intended to stop the tanks of Turkey, supposedly an ally of NATO (supposedly an alliance). -.

Help the refugees, and help the people stay in their country

Refugees should be helped. But refugees are already 10% of the Greek population. No country can offer jobs to such a percentage of foreigners. And no country can be expected to allow such an alteration of its demography. The problem is a european one, and EU does nothing. Rather, it shovels the problem to the countries of entry: Greece,Kypros,Malta,Italy,Spain. Ignorance of Greek history is one thing. Still it is impressive how easily people resort to racism criticizing Greece ...for racism. -.

A good awakening for people oblivious to human rights violations in Greece

Everyone has rose coloured glasses on when it comes to Greece. Not only dragging the European economy down with their refusal to pay taxes - minority groups, immigrants, refugees are treated lower than dirt, they continuously violate human rights & have carried out mass ethnic cleansing in the past. Yet they are a member of the EU and NATO when they meet none of the requirements necessary? The gov insists Greece is a western nation (geography aside), but they are infact another 3rd wld society

Greece Exists Only Because It Resisted Islam

Liberal Westerners fail to grasp that ideology lies behind this. Our ideology is not compatable with Islam and its ideology and social norms. Immigration is not the only issue. While I have a duty to help others. Help does not mean allowing them to stay in my country. Help means feeding, sheltering but not allowing them to stay. Islam is the problem.Greece only exists because it resisted the violent MoslemTurks. Turkey once Christian 400 yrs ago is now purged of Christians. I say NO to Islam

Lucky Australia is an Island

You forget to mention that the three Afghanis refugees kill in gold blood the poor man who was taking his pregnant wife at hospital to give birth. Excuse was the stealing of a cheap camera. I travel to Greece after 26 years, is unrecognizable. Robberies killings rapes forced prostitution etc .Elderly to scared coming out of their homes .People is afraid to visit some parts of Athens. Illegals all around Greece especially on the ports where ships departs to Italy .Your report was very one-sided
