The truth about Afghanistan

Why does Kazai refer to the Taliban as his brothers? Why's it an enigma? The Americans pulling out of the Middle East isn't unrelated; they can't fight a war on two fronts, so they're focusing their energies in the Far East and giving the Arabs in the Middle East what they want, hence various countries in North Africa and the Middle East falling to these Islamists that we're fighting in Afghanistan. And because of their reliance upon the Saudi Arabians and their client state Qatar, we leave Afgh

Feed back

Hi Yalda/SBS, I'm a contractor who has worked in Afghanistan these past 7 yrs. We are fighting a losing battle for Afghanistan. My initial contact with Afghanistan was with the UN's 'Op Salam' late 1988, as the first international military group to enter Afghanistan after the withdrawl of the Soviets. As long as groups like the Taliban exist to resist all external influences & assistance these Islamic states will revert to their old ways especially once we withdraw.

The truth about what's happening in Afghanistan

The CIA strives to deepen enmity between Pashtun vs Hazara, Tajik and Uzbek. The US is building the world's largest 'embassy', in encircling ascendant China and Russia while controlling the oil-rich Caspian Basin. It supplies all the world's heroin now whereas under the Taliban it was zero.While the strategic gas pipeline (Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan) is nearing completion, the window dressing rubric of bringing democracy and liberating Afghan women while fighting 'terrorists' goes on..!

breaking the silence

Controversial and challenging documentary "Breaking the Silence: Truth and Lies in the War on Terror" by John Pilger, portrays a view which contrasts much of the generalised 'western view' of Afghanistan. Pilger does an unbelievable job of highlighting what the U.S intervention, as well as the apparent $3 billion fund to 'rebuild war damaged infrastructure" has done for the Afghanistan which is shown as little to nothing which has resulted in hope and optimism for the future.

Abuse of women

To Anwar: I didn't say there aren't any abused Western women. Of course there are. Sharia law definitely is unfair to women in my and many other peoples opinions. To those who wish to bring Sharia and parallel legal systems to Australia, I say why come here and try to change our laws which will make this country into the type of place you migrated from? I do not believe Islam is tolerant of other religions. Look at the persecution of the Copts in Egypt, Christians in Pakistan etc. No more lies.

In respnse to Anwar;

Dear Anwar, No doubt every nation has its own set of issues and social problems. As Afghans, we need to focus on what our problems are and work within our individual capacity in minimising and the issues which our country is currently going though. The fact is, the very existances of Afghanistan is being questioned. Pakistani ISI is working releventless to controal all/parts of Afghanistan as part of its regional/strategic ambitions; as a result it is Afghans who are suffering day by day.

Back in the US

To simon from adelaide: In the interests of balance, i would like to see yalda do a tour of british & american shelters for vulnerable & abused women & children & bring us back some insight into their life experiences, that we might be better able to compare what goes on in the enlightened democracies in comparison with these extreme chariah practices, etc.

Power to the people!

Simon from adelaide say's islam doesn't allow for choice, i think if he sriously considers it judeo, christianity, nor secularism allow for personal choice either, as the elite perceive a need for bias in their favor, to maintain their illusory sense of power, as we saw in britain recently, the people can turn it on when they need to!
