cruise ships

i went on a cruise with my six year old daughter. i was sooooooo not willing to leave her in the cabin with whoever was around and i was assured before we took off on the cruise that children would be child minded.. and yes the whole thing is that the cruise ships employ (sorry, mentioned on your show - people from third world countries who are not paid a wage but rely on tips - not mentioned on your show) - leaves cabin crew up for bribes - does it not - for whatever - murder perhaps

On Board Police .

We recently returned from a cruise to New Zealand and we had an "Oscar, Oscar" incident, which is Man Over Board! well the rescue boat was sent out in very rough Tasman Sea, and after about 45 mins, we were advised by the Captain that the whole thing was a hoax. and that wait for it" All Passangers were accounted for" well we just found that hard to believe as no one did a head count of the ship and when I asked the security guard on how they came to that , Only a Full Head count will do.

What Happens On-Board Stays On-Board

Having worked on cruise ships the best way to describe shipboard culture and many of these lost at sea events is summed up in the famous statement "What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas." What happens on-board stays on-board. It happened, it only happened there, and it happened far enough away to have any negative effect on the here and now. Anyone who wasn't there at the time need not know about it.

surprise

been on cruise ships since the P&O Canberra of the 1960's and heard stories regarding dissapearances a lot but your story, I think is only the tip of the iceberg. I would never board a ship in Australia for a cruise after the drug murder of the woman in 2010 (i think) Have been on two recent trips from vancouver to bejing and Rio to Venice on board ships and not surprised to hear the stories on Dateline last night, it would be open slather for anyone that way inclined.

Thing's to help stop ppl getting lost

The cruise shops should have a 15feet or what would be normal safety net that come's down around the ship when the ship leave's the port, and they should have light's that go on by movement and cameras that take the time of the light that go's on because a person has fallen off the side of the ship. that's just my thought's.

My story goes back as far as 1974. I was given intravenous herion and drugs in drinks. If I looked like seeing daylight I was given more drugs either in food, drinks or intramusclar injection on one ocassion.I was faced with the problem of being the joke of the staff and had the problem of being up against 4staff members. The man who gave me the iv herion was sentenced to 6years in a Russian prison while the rest of these fellows went free.

Lack of responsibility of cruise liners

I have always wondered about these situations on cruise ships. And I've always thought that there is a proper investigation by the police so that any criminal act is brought to justice. I'm horrified to know that this is not the case - at least in some allied countries. Now I am beginning to wonder whether any criminal act is investigated by the police in Australia.
