the things aren't getting better

Spain is biggest European country that's in need of a bailout now. It's sad to hear about Spain and European crisis at all, because it's awful to see what's going on with the world economy now.Lots of people have thought that Spain is financially secure and all the prospering Europe shouldn't afraid of financial problems, these contries have money, why should they worry? But Europe is in crisis now and things there aren't getting better.

No way out

There many aspects to this problem. On one hand, it is in German and French interests to keep Spain, where it isas this devalues the Euro: and while Germany is well placed industrially to export, Spain has minimal industry, so Germany and France won't be bailing out Spain any time soon: it's not in their interests. Another prob. is the excess holidays in Spain: for example workers receive 2 weeks more public holidays than Australia: and this makes Spanish companies unviable on the world stage.

For laura

She meant to say that it is sad that in a so called developed country not only immigrants but also local people are asking for help in basic things such as food and lodge. She never meant to be racist, but didnt manage to get her message acrosss. In a country where immigrants are an important part of the workforce and not considered scum at all (at least not yet), the situation has got worse in that sense. Not that you want immigrants to put up with an on the edge situation.

Will the Roman Catholic Church Feed the Poor!

Unfortunately, I can not see a way out for Spain. They will never be viable like the Germans, who will rule the roost. They have been living in a Black Economy for too long without paying taxes. It seems all the Mediterranean Countires are corrupt and don't like paying their fair share of taxes. Why should the rest of Europe bail them out when they don't deserve to be. Is is time to ask the question, Will the Roman Catholic Church in Rome feed them?

"the waking up of people"?

"STUDENT: It's really sad. Some years ago, when you went to Caritas, you only find people from other countries - immigrants? Immigrants, yes. Now, there are people from Spain." (From the transcript). It wasn't sad before because people asking for help in Caritas were immigrants. It is sad now because they are from Spain. Did I get it right?

Spain is a pain now

In Spain the Church is almighty but not as much as it used to.It is just one of many corporations that control the ecomony, but the scandals revealed have put many followers off. It s still a undoubted landmark ,but mainly owing to ingrown traditions. Young people are not being raised on the same concepts as twenty years ago. Unfortunately, the waking up of people to fight for their rights is a question that worries many of those who are on that battleground. Consumerism is part of the problem.

The pain in spain

While spainiards are dominated by and preocupied with Church the rich are rich by the will of their God and the poor are poor by the will of their God and no one is game to do anything about it. And if you try,you are a"Communist" It took the Germans thirty years of bloody warfare to break the strangelhold of corrupt and oppressive religion. Religion, that was to be a Gurad Dog and protector of the poor chose to be a Lap dog of the rich and mighty. Can't you just see Jesus crying his eyes out?
