Beyond comprehension

I'm glad that the last lady Aishwak(?) was able to make it to Turkey and hope that she is granted asylum. It is deeply saddening that a society can turn its back on innocent women who are raped. I just don't understand how people can shun mothers, daughters and sisters who they know have done nothing wrong.
