Identity please

The priest being interviewed appeared to be holding a book - possibly his own - about exorcism. Could I have the title, author and publisher please. Alan

Got to question things!

When watching this I had to question what the 'possessed' people had been subjected to in their lifetimes as psychological distress just doesn't happen on its own it follows a history of trauma. The majority of people who exhibit such states like psychosis, disassociation or extreme paranoia have been subjected to some form of abuse, whether it is emotional, physical or sexual. I think the only devil like one is the perpetrator/s of the original abuse.

Hard to Grasp.....

There are only 2 initial view points: If you do not believe God exists then you will see this as human/church control, a hoax, false and even crininal. If you believe God exist then this report should encourage followers of Jesus to question it and read thier Bible. My opinion is simply this: There is never a time when darkness fights against light and wins in the physical world. Light overcomes darkness in EVERY case. No follower of Christ fights in a battle than is is already decided.

Attaching spirits and thoughtforms

Everything I have learnt with this sort of phenomena tells me that is attaching spirits from earthbound humans mostly. They have hitched a ride and have not moved onto the light. Apparently it is tied up with a persons karma. Of course there is also thought forms that can attach as well. There are many books written about these so called 'demons' often by psychologists and psychotherapists who have had the entities manifest during therapies. 'The Unquiet Dead' by Dr. FIORE is a good read.

Report is not detailed enough...

Report was short on details. (1) The Roman Rite specifies checking for psychiatric illness (and fraud) FIRST. No priest will launch into exorcism without checks. (2) All power is from God, laity can do "deliverance" prayers, but depends on individual's faith. "Exorcism" is calling on authority of whole church, hence needs approval of local bishop. Crazy people don't levitate and materialise nails & glass. Read Fr Gabriel Amorth's 2 books "An Exorcist Tells His Story". Better theology there.

Jesus Christ himself cast out evil spirits/demons during his ministry on earth

Thank God for those who carry on his work! Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already 1 John 4:1-3

Exorcism, a hypnotic state ?

interesting segment showing exorcism in action. It reminded me of a live show I saw ( for staff ) where the hypnotist managed to get co workers to act and behave in strange inexplicable ways. The hypnotist went a bit far in suggesting sexual things but the people had no inhibitions. It was supposed to be funny but it went too far. It is a concern that the mind can play tricks on humans purely on the power of suggestion . Exorcism seems to be working on the same principle as hypnotism.
