Crowdfunding in support of Rubbernaut
Crowdfunding sites are overflowing with countless documentaries in various stages of production looking for contributions. Rubbernaut is one of them - a documentary about forests in Cambodia being razed and replaced with rubber plantations, destroying the forest’s natural resources and trampling traditional land rights.
This particular project caught my eye as just three weeks ago one of the subjects, Chut Wutty, Cambodian environmental activist, was shot dead by military police while taking journalists to the site of illegal logging. If ever a story needs attention, it’s one in which an innocent person is murdered as a result of others’ greed. The film is currently in post-production - to help it across the finish line, donate to their Kickstarter campaign.
