SBS's weekly programmer picks - 8/10
Pick of the Week: Barack Obama: Great Expectations (Wednesdays 9:30pm SBS ONE)
The US Presidential election is about a month away and to accompany SBS’s extensive coverage of the campaign, we have a number of documentaries casting light on the candidates.
In this two-part series from French master documentarian William Karel, we look at Obama’s first term. What has he achieved and where has he failed? Has the hope that surrounded his 2008 election victory been lost in the realities of Washington politicking? The program includes contributions from Obama’s West Wing staffers and some of the top US political journalists. Also look out for The Choice 2012 in a couple of weeks – the definitive compare and contrast of Obama and Romney from the PBS Frontline investigative team.
Other Highlights:
The Story of Science (Mondays 7:30pm SBS ONE)
One Born Every Minute (Thursdays 9:30pm SBS ONE)
The Man Who Saved the World (Friday 9:30pm SBS ONE)
