Nov 01 (TheWrap.com) - Kylie Minogue and Gemma Arterton are lined up to star in the upcoming musical comedy "Walking On Sunshine," for Vertigo Films, a person familiar with the project has told TheWrap.

Now in pre-production, the film is set to be directed by Max Giwa and Dania Pasquini and is being sold at this week's American Film Market by IM Global. Giwa and Pasquini previously directed "StreetDance 3D."

"Walking On Sunshine" is set to hit pop songs of the 1980s and tells the story of a mother and daughter who fall in love with the same man in Spain.  The filmmakers brought in John O'Connell ("Moulin Rouge") as the musical choreographer.

An Australian pop star turned actress, Minogue, could most recently be seen on the big screen in "Holy Motors," which was in award competition at this year's Cannes Film Festival. Arterton has a long list of credits to her name, including "Byzantium" and "Song For Marion."
