IRON CHEF MELBOURNE 2011 COMPETITION
 
TERMS AND CONDITIONS

METHOD OF ENTRY

1.    Information on how to enter forms part of the terms of entry. Entry into the competition is deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions.

2.    Entry is open to Australian residents aged 18 and over only. Employees of SBS, JTB Australia Pty Ltd, RACV City Club and their immediate families are ineligible. By entering this competition, entrants will be deemed to agree with these terms of entry.

3.    The IRON CHEF MELBOURNE 2011 Competition commences on Thursday, 5 May, 2011 at 10:00 AEST and ends on Thursday, 19 May, 2011 at 10:00 AEST.  

4.    To enter, participants must log onto www.sbs.com.au/ironchef and follow the directions on the website.  Participants must register their details, including (but not limited to) name, address, postcode and phone number and answer in 25 words or less why they would like to win a double pass to experience legendary Iron Chefs Hiroyuki Sakai and Kenichi Chen cook live in Melbourne and overnight accommodation at the RACV City Club on 19 June, 2011 and accepting the competition’s Terms & Conditions.

5.    Online entries are limited to one entry per email address.  All entries become and remain the property of SBS.

6.    SBS reserves the right to request winners to provide proof of identity, proof of Australian residency status at the nominated prize delivery address and/or proof of entry validity, in order to claim a prize. Acceptance of proof of identification, Australian residency status and entry considered suitable for verification is at the discretion of the SBS. In the event that a winner cannot provide proof, the winner will forfeit the prize in whole and no substitute will be offered.

7.    Incomprehensible and incomplete entries will be deemed invalid.

PRIZE

•    The Major Prize winner will receive two standard tickets to the 2011 Iron Chef Event in Melbourne at the RACV City Club, Melbourne on Sunday, 19 June, 2011.  The winner will receive a culinary experience featuring world famous Iron Chefs, Iron Chef French Hiroyuki Sakai and Iron Chef Chinese Kenichi Chen.  They will enjoy a six course degustation menu with matching wines.  The menu is the creation of the Iron Chefs, complemented by the talents of RACV City Club’s Executive Chef, Mark Normoyle.

Event Date & Time:  Sunday, 19 June, 2011, 18:00 – 22:00
Venue:  RACV City Club, Level 17 Event Room, Melbourne
Value:  AU$485.00 (RRP) (incl. GST) per person (total:  AU$970)

•    Overnight twin share accommodation at the RACV City Club in Melbourne the evening of Sunday, 19 June, 2011.  The prize package Room only.
Value:  AU$270 (RRP) incl. GST)

Please note travel to the event in Melbourne is not included in the Major Prize.

The Major Prize is valued at up to AU$1240.00. (RRP) incl. GST

8.    All valid entries are automatically entered into the Major Prize draw. The Major Prize winner will be selected by SBS on Thursday 19th of May. The Major Prize winner will be notified by phone and email. The name of the winner will be published on the SBS Food website and published in the SBS Food electronic newsletter (eDM) on Thursday, 19 May, 2011 and published in the Australian newspaper on Monday, 30 May, 2011.

9.    All prizes are as depicted or described in the promotions for the competition and are not subject to change.

10.    SBS accepts no responsibility for any loss, damages, or injury incurred to enter the competition or in connection with taking up the prizes.

11.    Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash.

12.    Neither SBS, JTB Australia Pty Ltd, RACV City Club or their associated companies will be held liable for any loss, damage or injury of the results directly or indirectly from the Winner taking part in any aspect of the Prize.  

13.    The Major Prize DOES NOT include spending money.

14.    Travel arrangements to the event do not form part of the prize and are the responsibility of the Winner.

15.    It is the responsibility of the winner to enquire about local issues and conditions at destinations before travel.

16.    Neither SBS, JTB Australia Pty Ltd, RACV City Club or their associated companies is responsible, to the extent permitted by law, for acts of god, acts of terrorism or war (declared or undeclared) or other events beyond SBS, JTB Australia Pty Ltd and RACV City Club’s control which prevent awarding of the prize in accordance with the prize description.

FINAL CONDITIONS

17.    Prize values are based upon the recommended retail prices at the time of printing (inclusive of GST). SBS accepts no responsibility for change in prize value between now and the ultimate prize redemption date.

18.    It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner must comply with all the conditions of use of the prize and the prize supplier’s requirements.

19.    SBS accepts no responsibility for any loss, damages, or injury incurred in entering the competition or taking up the prize.

20.    SBS, JTB Australia Pty Ltd and RACV City Club assume no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to, or alterations of entries, and reserves the right to take any action that may be available. If for any reason this competition is not capable of running as planned, due to causes including, but not limited to tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the promoter which corrupt or affect the administration security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this competition, the promoter reserves the rights in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, take any action that may be available, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition. Subject to State Regulation.

21.    This is a game of skill. Chance plays no part in determining the Winner.  Each entry will be individually judged, based upon literary and creative merit.  All entries must be the original independent creation of the entrant and free of any claims that they infringe any third party rights.  

22.    The judges reserve the right to disqualify any entrant submitting an entry which, in the opinion of the judges, includes objectionable content, including but not limited to profanity, nudity, potentially insulting, scandalous, inflammatory or defamatory images or language.  The judges' decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.

23.    All entries become and remain the property of SBS.  SBS may use the entrants' name and addresses for promotional, marketing and publicity purposes.

24.    All details of the entrants will be used and preserved in accordance with the National Privacy Principles.  A request to access, update or correct any information should be directed to that office. Unless otherwise notified, SBS may use the entries and details of entrants for promotional and publicity purposes.  Entrants consent to their full names and/or their entries being used in all media by SBS.
