We leave our pig paddock empty over summer to recover from the bashing the pigs give it during winter. And because we feed vegies to the pigs, we find vegetable self seeding. At the moment, we are picking tomatoes from the pig paddock that have never received a drop of water. It literally has not rained since they germinated. And now we are eating them! Imagine what adding a little water could do!

I recently had a conversation with a hobby farmer from Nyora who also claimed amazing results for vegies and fruit trees grown in past chook yards and pig pens, all without any additional water. Lets hope you get the results you deserve however a little rain would be nice!

I love compost and have 2 bins on the go. Last year I planted miniature fruit trees, mainly apples, because I am sick of buying produce that has been in cold storage for up to 12 months! So much for the 'Fresh Food' motto of some supermarkets. It's a joke!!
I will follow David's biodynamic journey with interest. Good luck.

Revolt against the beautiful, but tasteless, rubbish the supermarket chains serve us. Organic and farmers markets are the way to go. I can't even sneak a Safeway apple onto my kids because they complain about the taste.
Grow some herbs and veggies in your backyard. Compost your leftovers. Your garden and health will love you !
