My dad would always tell me when I was young that he grew up with his parents owning a farm in Damnak Cheung Aeur, a town to the west of Kampot and north of Kep. They fled their as a result of the Khmer Rouge regime, and only came back last year. Before they fled, the farm had Durain, mango and pepper plantations.
It was not only the Khmer Rouge that destroyed all, the US launched air strikes of Cambodia in the late 60's as well. That killed many including some of my descendants.
Good on you Aaron. I bought the black pepper fr you on line and the flavour is wonderful. Will now try the red and white.
