Yum!
I agree it is delicious.... I first tried it at the hungry hungarian.....a little take away place on carlisle st, st kilda. They didn't use sour cream or onion... they used normal cream, egg, and polish sausage. I moved work place so decided to made it myself and it was devine! Don't dorget a bit of butter over the breadcrumbs so they go crisp and golden.

My Hungarian in-laws introduced me to this dish. I must say it is the most delicious meal. All Aussies should try this at least once in their life, easy to prepare and even my kids like it.

An old favourite.
We always had this without the sausage and onion, it is then a lighter potato dish, I really like it. I would use some butter, coat the dish with it, and in the layers. You can mix milk and sour cream and add after layering the eggs and potato, this gets all the flavours melding nicely. The correct name is Rakott Krumpli, layered potatoes. Always use fresh hungarian paprika for best results. Maybe wait for winter...

Winter Treat
I saw this recipe on Food Safari a few weeks ago and though I give it 3 stars for taste etc - I give it 4 stars for ease of preparation and a great winter treat.
