Cumin

Related to the parsley family, cumin seed is gathered from the dried fruit of the cumin plant, whose existence dates back to biblical times. Its warm, earthy flavour features in most spice blends, including curry powder and garam masala. It is available in seed and ground form. Cumin is featured in Middle Eastern lentil and lamb dishes and Latin American dishes such as chilli and tamales.
